Chicago, IL – The XT5 reportedly will disappear from the U.S. market soon as Cadillac transitions to an all-electric lineup. But it’ll be possible to blend in as it fades quietly into that good night, as 2024 brings a new extra-cost paint option: a dark plum paint called Midnight Sky Metallic. (There’s also a new deep blue-green called Emerald Lake Metallic.) Aside from those hues and a trio of packages combining black wheels with subtle splashes of either red, blue or bronze on the lower body trim, the XT5 will offer no fanfare for the new model year.

Familiar Powertrains
A 235-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder remains the XT5’s base engine and the only engine available in the entry-level Luxury trim. A 310-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 costs just $1,000 extra on the mid-level Premium Luxury trim and is standard on the highest-grade XT5, the Sport. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Luxury and Premium Luxury offer a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, while the Sport is only available with AWD.
The four-cylinder with FWD gets an EPA-rated 22/29/24 mpg city/highway/combined; adding AWD lowers those figures slightly to 21/27/23 mpg. With the V-6, FWD models get 19/26/21 mpg and AWD versions are rated 18/26/21 mpg.
Trim Levels
Standard equipment on the Luxury trim includes 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate, keyless entry and remote start. Synthetic leather covers the inside of the XT5, with heated front seats — eight-way power adjustable for the driver and six-way for the passenger — dual-zone climate control, a manual tilt/telescoping steering column and an eight-speaker Bose audio system. The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio and Wi-Fi.
Across the board, safety equipment on the XT5 includes forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure steering assist, front and rear parking sensors, and Cadillac’s safety alert seat, which vibrates to alert the driver to hazards.
Premium Luxury models add a panoramic moonroof, 20-inch wheels, hands-free power liftgate and real leather upholstery. The driver gets a power tilt/telescoping steering column and heated wheel, while the passenger gets an eight-way adjustable seat; ambient lighting and a 14-speaker Bose audio system upgrade the ambience. Blind spot monitors and navigation help get you where you’re going, while a 360-degree camera system, rear cross-traffic alert and automatic parking ease arrival. Wireless phone charging and automatic windshield wipers are also standard on the Premium Luxury.
The Sport trim gets all of the above, the V-6 engine, a tuned AWD system for more athletic handling, and a sportier suspension tune with adaptive dampers.
